Feelings
Where in the world are you going? Are you spinning around in
circles due to the crazy schedule we place on our lives?
The truth is, most of us are going nowhere. I will
speak for myself and I will allow you to create your own thought process as you
read this.
Ever think your life is nothing more than an allegory?
You see or read about people, places, and things that
have no particular influence on your life; however, with a little cunning mind
play it can be twisted into a fantasy that tempts the senses yet once again
takes you to a dead end. However it is fun for a short time
Think about it. How much of your life is now
consumed by social media, texting, and smart phone use? I bet the majority have
wrapped their being around technology and forgotten the warm embrace of human
affection. When that happens, and yes it has happened, we find ourselves in a
delusional world running at top speed. Our heart, soul, and feelings are
standing miles back traveling at a snail’s pace.
See God created us to have feelings, not only for ourselves,
but for others too. We were created to love, cherish, share with those of whom
we come in contact with. We have choices in our approach to feelings. We can
simply judge people based on what we know, or we can judge them based on what
other people may say, or we can walk with them to make them better in the eyes
of God or allow them to make us better.
I was talking to a man yesterday who is a recovering addict
and his words touched me deeply. He told me without hesitation that most people
had no interest in helping him recover even though they said they did. Most
people wanted to keep him an addict so they could separate themselves from him
as well as continue their harsh lifelong criticism. He went on to say that the
model of Christianity he read about growing up was not something he had ever
witnessed in his adult life (how sad is that). He said that people that knew
him labeled him for life and placed the black cloud over his head to make sure
that those who came in contact with him judged him as they thought he should be
judged.
You may be the person that has felt the crushing weight of
others condemnation or you may have been the one condemning. We will all be
both at one time or another. My intent for this writing is to make everyone
realize that we are all human and we all deserve to be loved with the emotional
heart God gave us. We have allowed the media to replace our
God- given spirit of love with fantasy which in turn diminishes the warmth of the heart.
Wake up and get back in touch with yourself and the world
around you. Begin to live again, dream again, and love again. Start
believing that God places people in your path to guide and direct you. These people
may seem like social outcasts and to you they may be, but so were the Apostles
Christ called to build his ministry on earth.
Your new life starts today, so make it a good one. Smile and
know you are the greatest creation ever made. You may be sick, overweight,
broke, outcast, or simply different, but in the eyes of God you are perfect. If
God can love everyone, so can we.
Peace and grace to all
