Do you know Jesus the savior

Do you know Jesus the savior

It was a beautiful day outside the weather was perfect and all the details had been worked out carefully in advance. After much meticulous planning it was finally time to showcase the event for all to see and be a part of. We had parking taken care of, food was catered, entertainment was outlined, restroom facilities were in place, the stage was set and now the only wait was for the guest of honor. Surely he will be early enough to meet the guest before taking the stage for the 45 minute inspirational speech about his new book The Divine Jesus.

As planned hundreds came to listen to the talk and finally at the last minute he arrived dressed in a beautiful suite and his arm displayed an expensive gold watch. After the introduction he floated onto the stage with the air of excellence. The talk started good however as it picked up momentum it was obvious that the crowd was becoming mesmerized by his charisma and losing site of the message. The Divine Jesus was lost that evening due to the golden tongue of a professional orator. The crowd left entertained and happy, however the Jesus we claim to love and serve was lost in the aura of the evening. I am sure the book sold many copies and people were intrigued by the possibilities the book created but the bait for the event was a program to bring Christ back into our lives. The bait worked as did the switch. The focus was on selling a person and a product and not the healing love of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Obviously I made this up and the title of the book to, but take a minute to hear the message being delivered hear. We find ourselves being entertained at the name of the great redeemer Jesus Christ but we do not find ourselves serving him. We spend hours per week reading books, magazines, and emails, yet never take a few minutes to read the word of our Lord. It is true that our minds become what they are exposed to. If you believe that I urge you to please nourish your mind with God’s divine love. It has healing power beyond what words can describe. Do not succumb to the addiction that our world places on us, instead succumb to the cross of Christ for the redemption of our sins and not only the hope of eternal life but the promise.

I would like to close with some scripture and I would encourage you to silently pray as you read and believe it possible that Christ is speaking to you.

"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

The Gospel of John chapter 14, verse 6

"He who believes in Me has everlasting life."

The Gospel of John chapter 6, verse 47

“The life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us.”

The First Letter of John chapter 1, verse 2

God needs you to love him today. If you are wondering how you can do that, start by loving those around you. You can change the whole world today simply by changing you. Remember the opening lines to the song Amazing Grace? “Amazing grace how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me”.

Let it go, just let it go, and let God save you from yourselves

Peace and love
