Am I the problem?

Do you ever find yourself complaining about everything? No matter what is going wrong in your life, it has to be someone else’s fault. Once you finally figure out that others are to blame, you graciously share with your family and friends the errors in their ways so they can be on the lookout for these energy- zapping predators. What would we do without the people that are willing to stand up and point fingers at those around them?

If you get up in the morning and say, “Mirror, mirror, on the wall, I am still the wisest of all,” you better go back to bed because your bad dream is about to cause others to share your misery. You see when we find ourselves blaming the world around us; we lose sight of the life we could be living.

It is admirable to stand up for what is right - as long as you are truly standing up for what is right. When we elevate ourselves at the expense of pushing others down, that is wrong. I think it is safe to say that all persons reading this have some skeletons in the closet that they keep feeding, hoping to resurrect the dead. The truth is the skeletons in your closet or the bones in the attic never had life to start with. They were dead when you were living them and they are killing you in your effort to revive them. Forgiveness has more power than blame.

I can say with all authority that this side of dirt we will all fall short of the teachings of Christ, hence the reason he came to grant us peace and salvation. Nowhere in the Gospel does it teach us to make fun of others or to shatter their image with our evil tongue. We are not taught to point out the sins of others while raising our status to one of sanctity. We are all in this wonderful world together and it is up to us to make it better or make it worse.

When you reflect back after reading this please ponder this question. Am I the problem? Seriously, give that some consideration. Are you feeding the sharks by continuing to cast blame on others?

I realize this meditation will not be popular but sometimes we need reminders that we can make this world in which we live a better place. We should not wait for something external to happen before we adjust our focus internally.

What can we do? Share a sign of peace with someone today. Extend a hand to those in need. Forgive your enemies in your heart and release the devil’s hold over you. Accept where you are and what you have right now and know that today God has you in the right place at the right time to receive the message you are reading. Rise up in splendor and know that where you are in the race is not where you are going to finish.

God has a specific plan and challenge. However until you are 100% ready it will not be revealed to you. God wants you all in. You can’t stick your toe in the water to check the temperature. Get in and get going.

God’s way is perfect and pure and through his grace and goodness our light will shine before all for the greater good of His kingdom. Allow God today to remove the shadows those skeletons have over you. It is time to let the dead take care of the dead while you rise to new life. You deserve to live life and live it with peace and joy. I believe the new you will attract a new audience that shares your vision to make our world great.

Now when you look in the mirror and say, “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the greatest miracle of all,” know with absolute certainty that the answer is you.

Peace and grace
