Good People Bad Vision

I read an interesting quote on facebook that went like this “Good people see the bad things in themselves; bad people see the bad things only in others.” I am not going to debate each person’s good and bad I will let you do that. What I am going to discuss is how we view good and bad and the impact it has on us. The way we see the world, believe it or not, is not the way the world is. Reread that please and allow it to digest. We see the world through distorted lenses and in most cases we only see the bad. When this happens if we believe that we are products of the environment in which we live we will start believing the world is bad. Since we are entering into a political season the media is going to form our minds to believe whatever negative spin they want us to believe about the other person. That negative spin exists in our small worlds too. Think about it, how often do you find yourself believing something bad before you consider believing something good. At this point I want to interject something; I was sharing this spiritual reflection with someone yesterday trying to get my head into the actual writing. The person basically stopped and said “Dale don’t you get it, there is no good left in this world.” How is that for a blurred vision of reality? You see the truth is there is plenty of good in this world we just have to wipe away the smudge to see it clearly. Our sight is so skewed that it masks our vision of the world. I recall a great quote from Helen Keller “the only thing worse than having no sight is having no vision”, I find this statement so true especially today. What is your vision of the world? What is your vision of your life, your family, your friends, your job, your health, etc? Bigger than these questions is, what is your vision of Christ? Is your vision good or bad, happy or sad, joyful or sorrowful? Do you see Christ as real or a figment of modern imagination? When bad things happen to good people do you blame Christ or try to find the grace disguised? This is a topic that can be debated and will be debated as long as humans walk the face of the earth. For today my hope is that you can adjust your glasses, clean the lenses, and begin to see the world for what it truly is. What is it you ask? It is an awesome creation by a loving God inhabited by his greatest love which is you. To view it any other way is to distort the love God intended for you to see and feel. We are finite beings living a finite world. We are also infinite spiritual creatures seeking an eternal unity with Christ in heaven. If you are seeking the eternal unity how do you see your actions in this world? Are you good or bad? Only you would know. In my eyes you are not only good but you are great so I hope you see what I see. Peace grace and love Dale
