The Ladder of Life
Ever wonder why we settle for being average or just ok? That is almost a spit in the face of the creator. You see we were built for accomplishment, we truly do have the seeds of victory embedded in us. I think where we get confused or beat down is how we measure accomplishment.
I don't think many people as they were growing up dreamed of being average which makes me wonder at what point did we buy into the fact that we could not do great things? Let's dive deeper into this and see what we can figure out.
Do you believe in you? Do you believe that God created you to be something more in this world than what you already are? The truth is we can never stop growing and heading forward. If we standstill we get runover or if we continue to look back we get passed over. I recall in the Gospels when Jesus was recruiting his disciples one told him that before he could join him he had to go back and bury his father. Jesus told him to let the dead take care of the dead. Jesus was not implying that we should not love and respect those that have passed on, what he was saying is stop making excuses for where you are and do something about where you are going. It is not important how fast you get where you are going as long as you know where you are going.
I know several people that have amazing talent however they have relegated themselves to the shadows of existence for fear of some past offense being exposed. I say this and please pay attention, when others try to push you down use them as a springboard to soar to new heights. God does not command us to place burdens on others we are commanded to love. I love the quote "where there is love there is hope" and I believe that to be highly applicable today. Hope is the essence of our existence and when that is taken away we find ourselves in the doldrums of being average.
No one and I repeat no one can stop you from being the best you can be except you. If there is a breath in your body your work on earth is not finished. There will be plenty of people along the way that will tell you to simply settle for this or that. They may even tell you that you are not worthy of having the promises of God. If we believe and I think you do that our God is a God of mercy and forgiveness then you must believe that everyday brings another opportunity for greatness.
I know at times I make this all sound simple and I also know that life has dealt us many bumps and bruises. I just want to convey that with belief comes hope. The cuts and scrapes will happen. Some will be worse than others and some may leave us injured for life but as long as there is life there is LIFE. If you can look up you can get up, If someone has you held in the chains of the past face the pain and move toward the gain. The only control someone has over you is what you give them.
Be a minister of Christ, that does not mean being perfect nor does it mean purifying the kingdom. Believing in Christ is also believing in you. We are not called to judge we are called to love. As you know there is work to be done so find those stepping stones and start climbing back up the ladder of life. Remember the more people you help up that ladder the brighter the view and easier the climb. If you spend your time pushing people back down you will never see the top. You choose to Help people up (work of Christ), or push people down (the work of the devil). Hurry the ladder of life is waiting.
