Self Discovery

Let's try to take the guess work out of self discovery and give ourselves the permission to explore the depths of our being. Some say there are places in our mind we need to leave alone, I say if God gave you the mind you owe to yourself to check it out.

It isn't who we think we are that moves mountains and opens doors it is who we become through self realization. If you believe that there are two opposing forces at work in our universe, one being good (God) and the other evil (Satan) then you should also know that they are both at work in you.

In the search for self one of the problems you will encounter is the evil force will try to steer you away from discovering who you are or could be in the hopes that you will stay exactly where you are.

As life goes so goes the search for self. In our youth and early adult years we explore the wonders of our mind and body, usually more body than mind. As we grow older and settle into life our search for meaning loses it's steam. As the months and years go by self doubt begins to manifest itself in such a way that once again that evil force convinces us that our worth is so small that we should stay put, slow down, get fat, grow old, and die.

The good force which is so much more powerful when turned on and turned lose can guide you back into the search for self with a head of steam that can plow through all obstacles. The most difficult part is finding the will to start the search.

I love working out at the gym, swimming, running, and biking. Over the years I have seen some amazing transformations. People that were sedentary, overweight, out of shape (physically and emotionally), and literally walking through life in a comatose state. Somehow someway they found the desire to start slow yet get started. The reason I use this as part of the discovery process is because energy breeds energy. Once you have some momentum things seem to happen. That is as long as you take it slow and easy because once again that evil force in an effort to stop you will turn up the heat on your ego and convince you to lift more, run faster, or go farther until you are once again sidelined with an injury. The power of evil can be so strong that once you do get sidelined you are able to convince yourself and others that the effort was not worth it.

The final point I want to make in the discovery of self is where and how to find your God particle that is in every cell of your body. Once again the evil will masquerade itself as well intentioned friends that will more than happily share with you that there faith movement, church, or spiritual direction can save the universe. You will see some great division here especially if you allow yourself the permission to explore God in and through your own heart, mind, and soul. Feel free to explore God through several venues whether it be in physical church buildings, nature, books, or whatever. The key to knowing you are on the right track in discovering the God within you is when you start to feel the love and peace that only comes from the good force.

These are some of my small thoughts on man's search for meaning. My hope is that it stirs within you the hidden power to find the you that is waiting to escape. Do not be afraid of what you might find instead be afraid of what is never found.

peace to you
Dale
