BE YOU

What is the greatest gift you can give someone? The answer is, the real you. Sharing of yourself makes you bigger than you are, the more you pour out, the more life will be able to pour in.

The greatest gift you can give to yourself is to be the real you. That person usually only exist in our fantasy world. You may tell people that "what you see is what you get" but you know as well as I do that is not always the case.

The best love is the one that makes you a better person without changing you into someone other than yourself. You hear all to often people saying "be true to yourself". That statement carries no weight if you do not know who you are.

One of the great miseries in life comes when we are continually forced to be someone other than ourselves. Our jobs, our families, our friends and community pull us in all kinds of directions. The goal is usually to make  us what they want us to be. It may be something as simple as convincing you to like a particular store, or political view. It could be that others are trying to pull you away from life long friends because someone offended them. The magnitude of things that pull us away from our true self is stunning at times. You and I know this to be a fact because when we are alone we know with out a doubt that we are adapting to others and not being honest to ourselves.

You have heard the quotes like "God made you an original so do not die a copy", or "why be a second rate someone else when you can be a first class you". At the end of the day when you are in that deep thought only you know where you desired life to go. If you are off course yet still breathing there is still hope for a brighter tomorrow. Stop being guided by petty arguments that drive division between you an others. Put aside hate and jealousy as well as opinions that push people away. Look inside and find that fire that burns for love and acceptance. If your flame for life is a mere ember trust me the winds of change can rekindle that fire again. You matter but first you have to believe that.

I will conclude with the short story of the man back in the great depression that leased his land to an oil company because he was so poor that he no longer could feed his family. After a few months the oil company hit the biggest well in history. The poor man became an instant millionaire, or did he? Actually he was a millionaire the whole time he just did not know what treasure lied beneath him. The same applies for you. You are The Holy Grail of life. You are worth your weight in gold. The problem is you are to poor in hope, dreams, and spirit to dig deep enough to find the real treasure that lies inside you. I believe that given one more chance you will guide your life through the rough spots right into greener pastures. This time let your heart and passion be the force that pushes you forward. Be you and be true. The effort will produce the reward.

peace to you
Dale
