"STAYING ALIVE" Ragpicker Wisdom

Life oh my you got to love it. The humanity we all face either externally or internally. A couple days ago I was speaking to a lady that was having some rather exciting difficulty in her life. Exciting because she was not only living life on the edge but she was dangling by a thread. She had the usual adrenaline rush you get when you are acting out in fantasy fashion. The difficulty was the guilt of doing what she was doing knowing she should be more responsible. Even though your minds may be thinking that this lady is engaging in something morally wrong I will leave that to your imagination.

What I want to write about that relates to this is "STAYING ALIVE". Living on the edge, dangling by a thread, skydiving, mountain climbing, hang gliding, etc. What ever it is that sparks that renewal of life I say proceed with optimistic caution. In today's transparent glass house society we are all too concerned about watching our back instead of looking at the blue sky ahead. With all the technology we have become prisoners of our own devices. So much so that we can even create illusions of things that did not happen and convince ourselves that they did. The point is to LIVE be ALIVE regardless of what others may say or do. Staying alive, living on the edge is what keeps life worth living.

I bet there are those of you reading this that wish you could come back to life. Sure some of you have unlimited resources to buy and go as you please yet you still feel dead on the inside. Life is passing by quicker than a speeding bullet and your ability to dream is moving just as fast. Money and materialism does not replace the awe factor God placed in us. That heart pounding feeling you get when something exhilarating happens. You know the moment you step out of that plane not knowing if the parachute is going to open. Or that crazy feeling you get when you got away with something over the top daring just knowing you were going to get caught and didn't.

Life my friends is about living. We are told that the two absolutes in life are death and taxes. What happened to LIFE and STAYING ALIVE. Trust me when I say this as you get older or get diagnosed with a terminal disease you start to learn the value of a life not lived. When you are alive your spirituality and faith can flourish in ways you cannot imagine. It is my thoughts that a person that gets in touch with their life will get in touch with God. You see many times as we grow we are taught how to worship and treat God yet we are not taught how to live a life that has meaning.

A life is a great gift and should be taken seriously. People from all walks will cross each of our paths. Some will seem bitter and cold while others seem wild and crazy. Each one creates an experience that stimulates the way we act and feel. A person that is trying to GET A LIFE sees these experiences as opportunities to move closer to the edge and feel the rush of wind and see the awesome view. Do not get distracted by the negatives the news media throws at you everyday. Do not live in fear of things that will never happen.

It is up to you to find the life you once dreamed of. Circumstances can stop you dead in your tracks but you must keep moving forward. Do something today that makes the heart flutter. Be daring, be bold, BE YOU. God created you because he knew you were going to be special. Stop being a victim and stir the victor mentality into action. Remember things will either happen to you or by you. I say be the creator of change more so than the recipient. Your life awaits you so  you better get busy. As for me well I got to go run a few miles and get this body in shape to climb a mountain.

peace to you
