EXPOSED
I think it is time we exposed our true selves, not so much to the world but to ourselves. You think I am being silly but I am not. I am not sure anyone knows who they are anymore. There are many contributing factors that go into our development. That changes as we grow and mature. Left alone we become prisoner of our own devices.
I speak often about faith, spirituality, and religion. Many would think I have an ax to grind with mainstream religion however that is simply not true. Where I get upset is when our religions create disciplines inside us that make us walking zombie's. We cannot allow works of faith to take away the who or what we were created to be. Most religions have an agenda to grow bigger and bigger. It mask itself by saying they are growing the Christian base but the real truth is that base is fading not growing. Makes you wonder why they think they have it right.
Life throws us curve balls daily. We spend most of our time trying not to get hit by the ball and little time learning how to hit the ball. Before you know we are old and weary. We somehow have to expose who we are. It should be ok to stand up and ask questions, challenge things you do not understand. Be the person you dreamed of being years ago. Let's allow the bruises and lessons of life to bring us the wisdom and courage to stand out. Let's practice hitting the ball and not dodging it.
As you step out of your comfort zone be on alert because there will be many so called well intentioned friends that desire to hold you down because they lack the courage and conviction to break their own chains of bondage. BUT, and this is important, when others see you stepping and standing up they too just might get the courage to do the same.
Stop walking through life pretending to believe that which in reality you truly do not. That will make you a person that has little joy in life. We are a mere speck of sand in the hour glass and left to follow that which others have established means our little grain will be washed out to sea and forgotten. We must make our mark in the world. You know as well as I that we were created to make a difference.
With integrity, conviction, strength, and honesty slowly begin to expose the real you. Study the Gospel's and see the walk of Christ. If the religion you hold to doesn't reflect what you believe to be true then it is time to expose that to yourselves and make a change. Never allow religion to harm your faith. A religion that teaches the walk and model of Christ will elevate your faith as well as develop your spirituality.
At the end of the day all we truly have is self. If we do not take care of that to which we have been entrusted someone else will gladly take care of it on their terms. Next thing you know you are what everyone else wanted you to be and nothing like who you wanted to be.
If you believe in God then you must believe that you were created to be the miracle that changes the world even in a small way. Be sure to live as an original and not die a copy. You deserved to be exposed even if it is uncomfortable. The best of the rest of your life is waiting on you.
