Thief

We often see on the news stories of banks and other places getting robbed. Hollywood loves to make movies of some of the greatest capers and they glorify the thief as if he or she is a hero. There is one heist in our times though that goes unreported and often unrecognized and that is the life we steal from ourselves.

We are taught early on in life how to be and do certain things but what we are not taught is how to make a difference. We were created as individual as the snowflake yet we are molded into cookie cutter members of a society that focuses on cultural division instead of unifying love. We are a people of polarity grouped into segments that embroil the bitterness inside us. All the while life is passing by and minute by minute we rob ourselves and others around us of the magnificent being we could become.

As we traverse through life we face the peaks and valleys that accompany us along the journey. We feel the unsavory emotions of defeat more than we feel the thrilling excitement of victory. The reason being is we are too engulfed in stealing what is rightfully ours but the problem is we are doing it to ourselves. Each moment of each day we live in the shadows of a world so emblazoned with hate that the word love has absolutely no meaning. We are not taught to stand tall, to make a difference, to shower the world with our love. Instead we are taught to protect what we have in order that we may have more. That in and of itself harbors enough ill will to sink a cruise ship. We should be accumulating a life of adventures filled with peace, love, and yes excitement. Our focus on materialism goes against what God created us to be.

Consider your house filled with stuff when it should be filled with memories. Consider your heart so hurt by a life molded from learned expectations instead of flowing with warmth in an effort to promote peace everywhere you go. Or maybe you go about your day in such a mean spirited, revenge filled state that you have no time or place for the genuine love God placed in you from birth. It is impossible to love yourself much less others when your body is consumed with the woeful ills of spite. Are you a robbing from yourself?

We have lost our individuality our unique ability to be the amazing person we were born to be. We are original yet we act like a second rate copy. Our lives are so much more than amassing stuff it is more about making a difference. We have literally robbed ourselves blind but we still have a glimmer of hope and that is what we are going to cling too. It is going to be our golden parachute that is going to give us the courage to take the leap of faith it will take to restore a life of dreams.

It is never to late to be the person you always wanted to be. If you stop stealing from yourself today tomorrow has a chance. Life isn't about your occupation life is about being a visionary. Do not give up hope thinking you have stolen so much that life is over. Life is just beginning, the best days are waiting to be lived. You are no longer a thief, you have been pardoned, and you have been forgiven. Go forth into the land of living and make your mark on the world. Whether big or small what you do and who you are makes a difference, live as though the world needs you because honestly it does.

peace to you
Dale

Awesome information Dale- I am going to hold this one in my space between my ears as I go back to school this week and face the storm of my difficult student (case) returning to school on Tuesday. Thanks for sharing!
