Fly High
Everyone makes mistakes in life, but that doesn't mean they have to pay for it the rest of their lives. Good people make bad choices, that doesn't make them bad people, it simply means they are human. As you know I often say that when we make a mistake we seek forgiveness but when others make mistakes we seek justice. Sounds almost counterproductive to a world that supposedly desires peace.
I, like you, have seen so many times when people make mistakes (which we all do) and others love to magnify those errors and place them on public display. It is almost as if humiliation is a means to some elusive pleasure that the brain is seeking. The reality is that it builds up in us bitterness and hatred that grows like cancer until it kills everyone emotionally that is close. There are no winners in the battle for justice just carnage where no forgiveness existed. Understand I am not talking about criminal acts here.
I often wonder why we, as a human race, can't be lovers of life and understand that we will fall. It is sad that we live in a world that focuses on mistakes rather than accomplishments. Even worse in my humble opinion is the constant referral to sins of the past. We do not need a barrage of reminders about what we have done we need support and encouragement for what we will do. This sounds easy if you are the one trying to work through mistakes in life, but it is tremendously complicated when you try to hold others back for their mistakes.
Love is a by product of forgiveness, and kindness is a by product of love. In an effort to make life worth living we somehow have to find in our hearts a place for kindness and forgiveness and trust me love of life will begin to manifest itself in miraculous ways. In a time when most people could care less be someone who couldn't care more. Popular culture is to hold people back so that we can gossip about them or share hate post on social media. Close this book of doom and let's write a new one that promotes hope, healing, forgiveness, peace, love, acceptance, and yes even promotes making mistakes.
Do not be afraid to live life, this is the only one you will ever get so make it count for something. Be the example others can live by. Stop going down stream in a river of contempt instead swim upstream, against the current and watch the heads turn. Some will keep going and gladly lash out at you as you navigate through the trials of life but others will join in and before you know you have a movement of people working together to make a positive difference.
Let's no longer look backwards to a time that no longer exist, let's instead look forward to a vast world of new beginnings and blaze a trail so awesome others will want to follow. Remember to do your part which is to unbind others from the sins of their past because your record is not without blemish either. We all need to make mistakes or life will lose all meaning. Risk is where reward comes from. As you risk it all be sure that you always promote peace, love and forgiveness as you go. Be the model of love not the judge, jury, and executioner. There is no way to fly high if you can't let go of the things that weigh you down. It is time to cut the rope and let yourself soar to new heights, how, by loving whoever is close to you and that includes yourself.
