We are the champions

I have always told people that the true meaning of a champion is the ability to come back under adverse conditions. Everyone loves a great comeback story, especially if you are watching it first hand. Even though in our fantasy minds we dream of ourselves being larger than life, we never imagine what our own comeback story could, should, or does look like. Trust me, we all have one.

Everyone is fighting a battle right now that we know nothing about. With our myopic view of other peoples lives we enjoy tossing around how blessed they are. We have absolutely no knowledge of what is happening inside we just see what it looks like from the outside and we compare our lives accordingly, they are blessed and we are not. When we constantly refer to others as blessed or we spend time in harsh judgement we leave little time for our own comeback. Our lives are being lived through the eyes of others and not through the heart and soul of ourselves.

In a world so consumed with material possessions it is no wonder we get buried in the mud what seems like everyday. Whether you are a believer in Jesus or not lets take a look at his life or at least what we know of it. Here is a man of meager means. Materialistically he had nothing, monetarily he had even less, he was a laborer that traveled the roads by foot with nothing but the clothes on his back, yet his comeback story is the greatest in  history. By today's standards he would be just another crazy forgotten soul we did not want to be bothered with, yet 2000  years after his life, death, and resurrection the story of this poor man is being told everyday around the world. His life was the comeback of comebacks. Certainly not to compare my life or yours to Jesus' but I will say this each of us can become the second greatest comeback story in history. Why can I say that, because it is written in our DNA that we are part of God, we have what it takes to be great. I am not referring to movie star status, I am referring to something much bigger. I am talking about the greatest miracle that every occurred and the greatest story yet to be told, your life.

When you judge your life against that of others, what are you looking at? Is it the car, the make up, the house, the vacation cabin, the plastic surgery, the bank account, or is it the content of their character and the depth of their heart. We know lots of nice people that we admire but those are not the one's we tend to think about. We are consumed in this day and age with what we have, what we can get, and where we can go, all the while losing sight of the the second greatest comeback story the world has ever known, ours (yours).

Just think about all the music that is in our hearts just waiting to be sung, yet most will die with their music still in them. Become a great champion of your life and use all the resources you have to mount the greatest comeback ever witnessed. This does not have to be some grandiose earth shattering event scattered across all the world's news medias, it has to be something that transforms your heart, mind, and soul so much that you began to realize that you truly are God's greatest miracle.

I love the quote, "if opportunity doesn't knock, build a door", this is so true with life. More times than not we are the problem more than we are the solution. To be a champion you have to have the heart of a champion, which means you can't spend your time dwelling on conspiracy theories, what if's, why not's, should have's, our could have's, you have to get up and make something happen.

Is your life worth living? That answer is an obvious  yes. Release the things that are holding you back, let go of the broken promises of yesterday and blaze a trail that will give you vision and hope for today and tomorrow. You are a champion and your comeback story is waiting to be written. The choice is simple, keep doing what you do and pray for God's miracle and most likely nothing will happen, or be a part of the miracle and do something different. Real life champions have a heart filled with love. Embrace the love God placed in you from birth. Set your life on fire and surround yourself with people that will fan the flames. The ember that has resided in you is ready to become a towering inferno, all it needs is a breath of fresh air and your willingness to say "I can do this".

A champions heart is so full of peace and love that mounting a comeback becomes easier with each passing day. As you love you become loved, as you forgive you are forgiven, as you accept you become accepted, and as you go so goes others. A life is too important to waste and music is too beautiful not to be sung. Rise up from the dead and let your light shine before all. It isn't money or possessions that makes you a champion it is your love for life and desire to be the greatest version of yourself the world has ever known. What are you waiting for?

peace and love
Dale
