God's Will

God is going to show me the way, God has big plans for me, it is all in God's time, if it is God's will, etc. Where does this ever end? Before you allow your heart to start pumping to fast and your head explode please hear me out.

It seems to me that God has become the excuse rather than the motivation. When things do not go as planned we react with some ridiculous remark like "well it is in God's hands". No one takes responsibility and makes things happen anymore. I remember a great quote that went something like this, "some people watch things happen, some people make things happen, while other people wonder what the heck happened". That is so on track with our view of God, which by the way is such a limited view.

In an effort to find ourselves, we first have to find and understand where God is in our lives. By the above description you would almost view God as some unloving bureaucratic bigot that sits back and waves his favors on whomever he wishes. This is a very narrow view of God. If we want to get the most out of life I think it is critical to establish a relationship with God that is a two way street. Please do not sit back and do nothing waiting on God while life passes you by.

In this narrow view of God there is no way to explain why some lives are horrible while others seem abundantly blessed. Some people are born with afflictions, while others die very young, some that seem to lead highly immoral lives have everything while the ones that are faithful struggle the most. Regardless it is all explained as part of God's plan, yet we are not privy to this so called master plan.

I hope I still have your attention because now I want to make a point. God created you with the highest amount of love you could ever imagine. You were created with the seeds of greatness, endowed with the ability to accomplish amazing feats. Your miraculous entry into this world was and is part of God's awesome creation. BUT, once we are born then our environment begins to shape who we are. As we grow older and start to make decisions we use the experience and wisdom that life has taught us to that point. God has not abandoned us and never will but it is up to us to make the most out of our lives.

To this point, think about people that live for negativity, it is all the know, it is all the portray, it is all the absorb, it is who the are, yet they can attract an audience of like believers. Contrast that with the person that strives to live a positive life against all obstacles, people seldom desire to hang out with them because it might rub off and they would have to change. Being negative does not take much energy because all you are doing is searching for excuses. Being positive takes action, it takes courage, it takes wisdom, and it takes God.

God placed in you the ability to love and be loved, he placed in you the ability to stand out rather than fit in, he placed in you the strength to live in your life instead of simply walking around breathing. Your life is up to you to live it. God is with you, God loves you, God wants great things for you, but God is not going to walk into your life open the safe and hand you over the pot of gold.

Please stop the insanity of making excuses and placing God in a box. If you love God then utilize what he gave you which is your mind, heart, body, and soul. Stop making excuses and start taking action. Your life is waiting on you to live it, so if you love God, love yourself enough to be the best you can be. Otherwise keep making excuses, keep waiting on God, and next thing you know you are at the end of life wondering why nothing ever happened.

peace and love
Dale
