You are enough

You are enough, you've always been enough, in fact you are more than enough.  Why are those words so hard to believe? In this age of instant everything, it's hard for anyone to stop their head from spinning long enough to see and appreciation the person that lives inside their own body. We are constantly deluged with the latest media expose' that we feel needs our comments. That may sound innocent and possibly even somewhat appropriate given our current conditioning, but what if all of this noise keeps us away from understanding, seeking, or believing in the awe inspired person we were created to be.

I realize that many of us feel as though we are in a hole so deep that there is little to no hope of every seeing the light of day again. Lost jobs, bills piling up, past mistakes keep creeping back into your present, failing health, waning hope, lonely, codependent, etc. The list goes on and on and it is certainly placing a burden on you so heavy that you ALMOST do not have the strength to move. This is where the story of hope begins, not ends.

I spoke to a man yesterday that had just gotten out of prison after a 25 year sentence. He was so gracious and humble to just be able to breath fresh air. He shared with me a vision through the eyes of personal experience. He told me that the world he knew when he went into prison was completely gone. He did not understand phones and all the technology that currently exist. We, on the outside, evolved through or with the advent of 24/7 connectivity, for us it is natural. For him, it has robbed society of the ability to love and feel who God created us to be. The more I thought about that, the more I realized how correct he was. It took someone so removed from our world to see what we no longer see. We are so consumed with the minutes latest news and gossip that we no longer have the emotions to feel the heartbeat of the world. We are hell bent on sharing our opinion that we refuse to see the awesome beauty in the people that think, say, look, and act different that us.

People now days are so lonely, but they don't realize it, they are so hungry for love and affection, yet can't imagine what it feels like. The beauty and self discovery of sexuality has been lost to constant communication. In all this, we have lost the ability to see how wonderful of a creation we were and still are. We are so much more than enough, yet slowly but surely doubt has eaten away at not only who we are but who we could be.There is still time to stop the parasites from eating your hopes and dreams.

Is there any hope? To some of my readers you may think that I am about to throw in some religion. To me this isn't the time to tell people they just need Jesus. This is the time to put aside all of our external bitterness and differences, not only with self, but with others as well. This is time to strip our lives naked, be fully exposed to who we currently are. One thing we cannot change is the exact moment we find ourselves in. But we can have a huge influence on the future moments. We must believe and understand that the sands in the hour glass keep falling, the shot clock is winding down, the game doesn't last forever, BUT there is still time.

We can't waste another breath on the what if's, has been's, or should have's. We have to live in the NOW. You are enough, you've always been enough. You have enough heart, you have enough forgiveness, you have enough love, YOU HAVE ENOUGH of everything you need. It's time to dig down deep, tap all the reserves, and go that extra mile. As you push through the demons, the obstacles, the pits, the doubts, the bitterness, you will find that your burden will get lighter.
So what if you are fat, skinny, disabled, social outcast or misfit, so what if you are gay living a straight life, so what if you are hiding a love that you fear will be exposed. This is your life story, it is what it is right now. The previous chapters are written, but the book isn't complete. Let's make sure that the closing pages in this awesome story of yours is penned with absolute honesty with yourself. Unlock the doors, take the shackles off, have a fuck it moment and tell yourself "I can do this". You are enough. I know that without a shadow of doubt. How can I be so damn sure? Because God's love created you to be his greatest miracle. God didn't create you to fail, he didn't create you to hate. You were created to make a positive impact in a unique way in this fantastic world in which we live. Your past mistakes did not define you, they just brought you to this point in the book.

Go look in the mirror. Regardless what you think you see, I want you to see only the love that is staring back at you. Yes you have always been enough. No one can take that fact from you. Grab that pen of life and start writing the next chapter in your own words. Bring life back into your body. The game clock will not expire with you in defeat. You are a winner, so get back in the game. You are enough.
God bless
Dale
