Finding Light in the midst of Darkness

In the depth of our struggle for truth is a shallowness that springs us back to reality. Facing life’s pursuit of knowledge of human existence often leads to intellectual controversy with self. Has God placed within us the innate ability to know right from wrong or truth from falsehood?

When you face those debilitating “WHY” questions about life where do you seek answers? Are you looking to those that have journeyed the path of which you have now embarked? Do you with great reluctance enhance your limited knowledge of Christ and seek wisdom in the written Word? Or do you turn to the synthetic truth embodying itself as a friend that so graciously guides you down a path that is a dead end at best?

By now you are looking at the depth of the first two paragraphs and wondering where in the world these thoughts can lead. Over the last few days it has been my experience that many people are seeking grandeur in life at the expense of their own spiritual salvation. To make matters worse the people they are looking to provide solutions to life’s problems usually have a set of issues greater than they do. Why do we find ourselves falling prey to Satan’s grasp when the real answer is right before us?

When was the last time you went to church? Tougher question, when was the last time you went to church for say three months in a row without missing? If God placed in us the ability to know right from wrong I believe everyone realizes that to maintain your moral compass you must be nourished by God’s word. When life throws you the proverbial curve ball as it so often does the only way to hit it is to be equipped to see the pitch before it leaves the pitchers hand. To do this means to stay true to the Gospel by faithfully hearing the word proclaimed and reading on a regular basis from home.

Sure my simple writings are not going to change your life today however I do believe that if we all get our heads out of our behinds and get them back into the positive instruction of God’s master playbook that we will have an infinitely greater chance at winning this so called game of life.

In closing I would ask you this question, when people seek you out to offer them advice on the problems of life are you directing them toward the valley of tears or towards the light of Christ? That is not a hard question to answer yet the answer itself might be revealing the person you did not know you were. Seek the truth and it shall be revealed to you. Instead of finding darkness in the midst of light I urge you to find light in the midst of darkness.

peace be with you
