Truth

Is there real truth to anything? I suppose the only actual fact we know to be 100% true is that we will surely die someday. Other than that what is absolutely positively objectively true.

Many reading this will respond to me and say that Jesus Christ, God, Buddha, or whatever they believe are pillars of truth. I will not turn this into a religious debate but humans have argued against or for those points since the beginning of time and still do.

I bet if you think back and not very far back you will have seen all the different diets and foods that one time were good for you and now they are bad. Medicine that once was thought to save lives only to find out later it kills people. Remember this one Y2J all the worlds computers were going to stop in the year 2000. Oh wait that did not happen did it. Where is the truth?

Take a look at a court of law, you have a prosecution and defendant. Both are trying to prove truths that are polar opposites of each other. It is the jury and judge left to decide what the truth in the case will be. There are those small few that are wrongly prosecuted that question the truth and trust me if you were them you would not believe in the system yourself. The list of items that make truth subjective has no end. If truth itself is so subjective why even write about it. Well the truth is I enjoy putting my opinion out there to start a conversation, or is that even the truth.

The meat of the matter is how peoples minds can be changed by the influence that goes into it. Today with the majority of humans carrying smart phones or other devices that literally can record your life we see images portraying people with captions depicting what someone thinks the truth may be. Relationships and reputations can be built up or destroyed based on what others think they saw or heard. Even when recording or taking pictures that would seem highly objective even that has been proven to be not true at times.

Let's say for a moment that God, in my case that would be Jesus, is truth. If that is the case for those that have decided to adhere to that truth may I ask where you find it. I can only assume your answer to be the written Word in the form of the Bible. Let's have some fun for a moment. Jesus was pretty clear when he said that if your hand caused you to sin cut it off, or if your eye caused you to lust pluck it out. If we lived by that statement of truth how many people would have hands or eyes. Jesus also said the one that is without sin cast the first stone. Boy oh boy what do we do to find the truth.

I say this and I am nothing but a mortal finite ragpicking human that loves to write, why can't we simply surround the world with love. Cast out judgement, hate, agendas, bigotry, condemnation, and just live a life of honor and forgiveness. When we make a side step in life a friend  should come along and help to get us back on track. If a past offense surfaces and it is obvious the person has reformed let it go. Leave the judgement to someone else. The greatest of works will never come from the person that strives for perfection. The amazing awesome creations of our time will come from those that are willing to put themselves on public display with little regard to what others think. It isn't the supposed Holy people that make the difference in our world it is the reformed sinner. It is up to us to have the courage to allow a person to reform but the truth is we struggle to do so. If you don't believe in that truth just think for a moment about the people you do not like or you think do not like you.

I think and truly believe that the word truth is difficult to defend. We should however be seekers of truth but not in an effort to control or harm others but in an effort to make the world around you a more peaceful loving place. Well that's the truth as I see it.

peace to you
Dale
