Power of Hope

As long as there is hope there is joy in living. I think the key is how we provide hope for ourselves and others. All to often I hear stories about people with cancer being sent him to enjoy their remaining days. That in and of itself provides no hope. We all need that life preserver thrown towards us when the water is rising and our strength is waning. Hope is caring and caring provides healing. We are the hope that paves the way to life.

I use the analogy of cancer but hope or lack thereof can be present in many facets of our lives. Most people know the feeling of hopelessness when something from the past creeps it's way back into the present. Some know the hopeless feeling when a loved one is suffering and there is little you can do. The loss of job, financial problems, relationship struggles, health issues, getting older, all of these and more can steal hope away from us. Sure it is part of life but it does not have to drain the life right out of us.

A powerful motivator to bringing hope back into our lives is to keep our heart open to dreams, for as long as there are dreams there is hope. I have said many times in the past that the devil has no interest in us, what he desires is to rob us of our hopes and dreams because then we lose our ability to live. Life can sure bring about reasons to lose hope, I think it is up to those around us to provide hope when none is present. Sometimes a simple smile, a gentle hug, an act of love, a heart felt forgiveness, or maybe just a listening ear will provide the hope that someone needs to get back on track.

Let's never take life for granted because it can change in a moments notice. As long as we are breathing we must be living. God did not play a part in our creation just to watch us sink. We are the life preservers for others as they are for us. We are in this life together and with love we will get through it. Let's not focus on our differences or our mistakes, let's focus instead on our potential.

NEVER give up no matter the situation victory is one more second, one more inch, one more stroke, one more push away.

The key to happiness is having dreams and the key to life is chasing after them. Look around you today and make sure every chance you get you are providing hope for someone. You may be the only life preserver they have. There dreams depend on you and your dreams depend on them.

peace to you
Dale
