New Horizon Voyager

I have so many thoughts running through my mind this morning that I would love to convey in some form of meaningful blog. First and foremost I must say that I am beyond in AWE of the New Horizon voyager's mission to Pluto. I am also equally fascinated that it has basically flown under the radar by the media. It seems our insatiable appetite for bad news has once again eclipsed the amazing feat that happened this past week.

Let me share some basic facts about this little voyager's journey to some way off land 3 billion miles from home. New Horizon launched in January 2006. It wasn't a short cross country jaunt, oh no, this mission took nearly ten years and traveled more miles than our human mind can imagine. Not only did it arrive at it's destination, it arrived a mere 73 seconds off schedule. I hope after reading this you take a few minutes to look at the profound pictures that have been sent back for us to expose the AWE factor in God's stunning creation.

I share the Pluto story because I believe it is important to understand that this project was put together by human beings that believed that they had a larger than life dream that was worth pursuing. While the world around them circles like vultures hoping the mission fails so they can promote their agenda's that dreams of this magnitude are impossible, the believers dig deep and believe more in their God given abilities than the doubts that others spew. We are constantly being bombarded with what we should and should not believe about life, limits, and doubts. Reading about the Pluto mission gave me new hope that anything is possible when you find the courage to chase your dreams. In order to do that it is imperative that you and I surround ourselves with people that will build us up, not tear us down. Contrary to popular culture and belief, if you are a Bible reader, it is filled with people doing the impossible more so than people conforming to a belief system that robs than of their humanity.

That brings me to the next point I wanted to share this week. As many of you know I have a closed group on Facebook of wonderful friends of faith to where we openly share our thoughts about life, spirituality, religion, or anything else we feel that brings out or dampens our enlightenment. This week one of our members posted a great article and it in was this quote, "We were never commissioned to demand that secular culture reflect biblical principles. We were commissioned to reflect biblical principles in the middle of secular culture".

As you absorb that last statement I would like to share some thoughts that not only embody my heart and soul, they bring to front and center my life passion. We live in a society that is so captivated by headlines that splatter negative news that we cannot even see the beauty and awe of life going on around us. As platforms are being built walls are erected as well. The days of building bridges of love have been replaced with damns of fear. Why? Simply because our indviduality no longer has the ability to shine and grow into the amazing awe inspired creation God hoped we could be. There are those people that are strong enough to break through the walls of confinement and make positive impacts on our world. There are those whom the world rejected yet their contribution will be felt for generations to come. But there are also people all around us that face insurmountable odds because their lives have been so confused by religious jargon to the point that they feel all hope is lost.

Whether it is the team that built the New Horizon voyager or the person that has a dream of bringing peace to the world, the one common denominator we all have is that we are spiritual beings inhabiting bodies that our creator placed us in. It is up to us to take that in which we have been entrusted and make a unique life that makes our story the best it can be.

If you are a Christian and you desire to be a better Christian then I urge you to question everything you know about your faith. In those questions you will find the answers and in those answers you will discover a person you never knew existed. Being told what to believe is about like telling someone that we cannot build a craft that can travel 3 billion miles to Pluto. It is in your DNA to be great beyond belief. If that greatness is to restore, challenge, or promote your faith, then do so with love and vigor. What ever you do though, please do not allow naysayers to convince you that your dreams are too big, your hopes are delusional or your belief is too weak. The greatest thing God placed in our body was our mind and in that mind lies a little thing called curiosity and that my friends is where dreams are born. Question everything, no matter what and as the answers come I have a strong feeling that you will find a level of peace and love in your life that you never knew existed. It is time to break free from the chains that bind and fly high so you can experience the awe and beauty of a world awaiting your discovery.

peace and love
Dale
