Psychological War

Over the last few months we have been surrounded by a cultural psychological war. It seems that most people, almost every media outlet, and even many religious organizations are using any means possible to infiltrate our minds in negative harmful ways. We are told how to think, how to act, what to do, when to do it, and where to do whatever we are supposed to do. All in the name of upholding someone else's water cooler prophecy of the day. We seldom hear words that build us up, yet every where we turn we come face to face with rhetoric meant to tear you down and hold you back.

You may be one of the dooms day naysayers yourself, if so, I urge you to keep it to yourself. A few months ago a gentleman demanded to share with me the events of the near future. Reluctantly I obliged his bully antics to spew his message. The world as we knew it was coming to an end, there was to be millions dead in the streets, martial law would be installed, people would be turning on each other, all forms of government would cease to exist, and the diatribe went on and on. Finally, when he ran out of breath, I had a chance for rebuttal. I asked how he knew this, which was a mistake on my part, he responded that it was a message from God. I asked if it could possibly be wrong and he got angry and repeated that it was a message from God and he was the messenger. I went further and ask when, now keep in mind most God prophets will only say SOON because apparently the God they listen to isn't that specific. He was emphatic that this was all happening prior to the election. I give him credit, at least he had some type of date that he whole heartily believed in. 

I am sure you have met or know a person like the gentleman of whom I am speaking. Hopefully you are not that person. This man sought an audience anywhere anytime he could find one. I admit, he was passionate in his delusional belief, but the harmful part is that he was able to impart his psychological abuse on others. Not many, grant you, but there were some that loved doom and gloom and bought the snake oil he was selling. When we cast our net out to gather the hot topic of the day, if we aren't careful we can reel in weeds that we mistake as healthy food. When we buy into the theory or poison they are selling, we reduce our ability to chase rainbows because we are too busy finding shelter for a storm that may never happen. 

The last question I asked him was this, why should anyone believe what you are saying? He responded that he didn't care who believed him, it was a warning from God and he was doing his part to get the message out. This was the crack in his armor, if you will. I responded this time with my message. I said "why would an all powerful, ever loving, God share a message of importance with someone, no one would listen too. This man did not emit love, he spewed bitterness and hatred all in the name of God. I am a believer in the wonderful agape love that only God can display. I believe with all my heart that God created us with free will to be good stewards of the earth in which we inhabit. It is up to us to be lovers of life verses the alternative. 

Why am I sharing this with you? This has nothing to do with the election, and yes there will be one, it has everything to do with people that have an innate desire to control people's mind with negative prophecy that robs them of their ability to become the best person they can. God did not create us to follow a crowd, he took part in our creation so that we could have the power, opportunity, and tools to make a difference. The greatest force on earth is the human soul on fire with love. Wars are not started simply to cast out hate, they are started to promote a political, theological agenda centered on ego driven agenda's of people, not God. War never unites, it always divides. Wars are not always fought with weapons, they are always fought with words and control. When someone finds a person that does not agree with their position, instead of respecting our differences, many use a very abusive mental control to suppress the love people were inherently born with. 

For 2000 years theses end of time prophets have worked their hearts out to steal the hopes and dreams of unsuspecting, loving, humble people. I always appreciate anyone and everyone's point of view, but I am not real keen on people telling me that the end is coming soon BE READY. This narrative has been spun so many times that most people now find it rather amusing. This one item has probably done more harm to religion than any single event. The prophets have been wrong 100% of the time yet they still shout out that we should believe them this time. If you love the Gospel I urge you to read it and allow it to come alive in your heart. You do not need others to share with you their skewed version of what is written, read it for yourself and come to your own conclusion. We are a human race that has love running through our veins, it is one of the many wonderful things given to us by a loving God. Anytime we see, hear, or feel hate, please know that it is a learned behavior. Love is the one driving force that will give people a reason to live again, hope again, and dream again. 

I love speaking out about things that can lift people up. There are people dying all over the world in horrific conditions, they need love, they need help, they do not need someone preaching to them. We can make a huge impact in this world if we choose to see the universe in it's totality. There are issues facing this generation that can be very harmful, but promoting fear will not help. We need to use our God given ability that we are aware of and then dig deep to find talents we didn't know existed and use them to further build up mankind. There is enough divisiveness in the world but not many bridge builders. As our years pass by, our bodies age, times change, the world evolves, we too will face our own end times. Not a cataclysmic event that destroys 75% of the known population. Our lives will mature and end so what matters is what we do right now with what we have. The choice is yours. I hope that you value your life enough to use your time to do, see, share, and spread the amazing awesome things this world has to offer. Together I am confident that we can end hungry, poverty, and many emotional ills that we suffer. We can't do it by tearing each other down, we can only do it by lifting people up. If you are apart of the psychological war machine or a victim of it, please find it in your heart to let love guide your life. What you will allow is what will continue, when possible always replace suppression with an elevation of hope that will propel yourself and others to climb the ladder of life and see the field of dreams that truly awaits them.
